The CMR Pillar Excavation is a new forty-minute session of polymetric ambient techno, courting shades of dub music and drifty generative synthesis across its runtime. It was recorded in late 2022 using only the boot sounds of the Sega Dreamcast video game system in tandem with several different hardware samplers and an array of outboard FX. It was drafted in celebration of the tenth anniversary of the Cedar Mast album, and is included in an expanded and remastered edition of that release ( coppicehalifax.bandcamp.com/album/cedar-mast-expanded-remastered ) but I've opted to give it a singular release also, separated from the reissue, in order to both allow it to exist as a new piece of cataloged music, as well as give listeners the opportunity to bypass the reissued decade-old material and simply access what's new.
