Hourly, nightly, I return to my ritual of sifting, considering, reshaping, mis-remembering, recontextualizing. FERINE ALEMBIX are sessions of burnt out elemental recall, doused in smoke, urgent crusts of Halifaxian tectonics thrust ever upward. What does this mean? What does anything ever mean? In the green face of the tree-lined valley I laugh and exhale and spit, Earth to Earth, returning, remembering, reconsidering. Fingers dirty with the thick resins of porch perspectives. A chair beside a window, looking out into the negotiated and acceptable overgrowths in a picturesque neighborhood street. For a moment, which could itself be many moments, years and universes zoomed in upon with the scrutin-eye of vaporized gods, the forest returns, blooms and leaves and stalks defiantly resistant of change and human hands, mocking and refuting the oblong vessels, orange inside like a candlelit coffin, welcoming you and I as guests in this great opened house. I laugh again, and make a joke, but neither of us can hear it as my words are swallowed up by a swirling, expanding breath of forestial celebration. Lungs full of wind, stars peeking out from behind clouds like some sea-sprayed beach above our heads. Another night, another dream, another alter to throw ourselves upon in wild delight. The curtains of evening are drawn across the landscape and beneath these canopies we melt, rendered down to sweet oils and quiet pigments, a vibrant pool of lucid navigation that we'll swim up to the surface of tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow, barely remembering.
