Pip From The Forge I am mesmerized by this beautiful album that transports the listener to another world created by a masterful artist. The first track tantalizes as it transfers you to the second, transcending the hazy dream that slowly unfurls into the brilliance of Pacific Opal Hex. As the essence of your being melts into the sea of music, you are carried into the majesty of Royal Purple Pageant, engulfed by the depths of the Sunken Dancehall, and left haunted by the reverie of Amstar Paradise. ❤ Favorite track: Pacific Opal Hex.

about

**This is the first time the vinyl mix of High Hawaiian Fog has ever been released digitally. This includes the vinyl-only track "Pacific Opal Hex" and different mixes of "Equatorial Haze", "Royal Purple Pageant" and "Amstar Paradise"

From the back cover of the LP: "This record is not just a record, it is a porthole to another dimension. Glossy black spirals sing like sirens and lull you into a zero-gravity coma. Swirling strings, dusty organs and sun-warmed bass melt into a haze of foamy waves and blue skies. As you soak up the tropical radiation, you find yourself on an endless beach, with a cruise ship sinking slowly on the purple horizon. The sun too becomes swallowed into the permanent blue sea like a golden egg, giving way to hundreds of pinholes in the velvety black sky above you. Wind softly blows through palm tress in the distance, and the droning repetitions of low tide begin to wrap around you. Your heartbeat becomes a muted kickdrum, reverbs trail off, and beat by beat, you are returned to your comfy bedroom. Were you really here, all that time? Put the needle down, one more time, just to find out..."

From the WR press release: "Roll out the red carpet, all the way down to the bottom of the sea, for the first Coppice Halifax album ever laid to the vinyl format, High Hawaiian Fog. Six dense constructions of seawater and sand, etched into two black sides, recalling influences such as GAS, Casino Versus Japan, The Caretaker and even Brian’s work as Milieu. Soaking wet reverbs gloss softly over creaking, rusty chords that bend and sway beneath the compressed pressure of an airtight bass drum. Light flecks across the surfaces like glitter and textures dance and play inside the slow-motion underwater beauty pageant for mermen and maids on opiates. This is womblike psychedelic techno made by scraping the bones of Stravinsky, Satie, Mussorgsky, Smetana, Debussy and Delius across drum machines on a plush carpeted dancehall, long since overgrown and forgotten by the sea on a silent cruise liner’s wreckage. Sunny and sad music for your hi-fi and subconscious."
