High Lights

about

Somewhere between things like Verdant Acre and High Hawaiian Fog sits High Lights, the 18th EP in the Static Pharming series. Exploring the sadder side of ambient techno, High Lights focuses on the slow expansion and contraction of orchestral tape loops, ghosting over a subtle dubby rhythm and bass section. String sections play blue notes endlessly into a space echo chamber, while singled out violin leads wrap like thin wire around wooden barrels, floating out to sea long after the ship that carried them went to sleep beneath the waves.
