Growing up near the Atlantic, this track evokes feelings of youthful wonder, past love, and sweet blissful melancholy for summers gone by. Beautifully familiar and resonate. My favorite of Brian’s long-form compositions.

Dark, emotive, blissful and haunting at the same time, this beautifully illustrated work lures you in by the soothing swirls of ocean-like waves of hiss and smeared sound effects. An excellent blend of ambient score and dub techno filled with a calming blend of variant passages.

"We feel the long pulsation, ebb and flow of endless motion, the tones of unseen mystery, the vague and vast suggestions of the
briny world, the liquid-flowing syllables, the perfume, the faint creaking of the cordage, the melancholy rhythm, the boundless vista and the horizon far and dim are all here, and this is ocean's poem."
-Whitman, 1900
Lust's Nightly Glories was an alternative arrangement of the Coastal Reveries album, which was privately commissioned in 2012 by visual artist and designer Dylan Fisher. It was created for the purpose of providing a more ambient and minimalist portrayal of the Coastal Reveries material, where many of the higher frequency bands were reduced, details were smoothed over and various other post-processing decisions were made concerning pitch, sequencing and texture. Additionally, the album features a completely different backdrop from Coastal Reveries, a blend of field recordings, white and pink noise generators, self-oscillating FX75B flange and other tangible sounds designed to provide a wide lens space for the ambient tonal material to spread out inside. At the time of its creation, it was offered to Fisher alongside Coastal Reveries as a bonus item, an extra bit of gratitude for such a gracious commission, and over time it has taken on more and more gravity in my memory, now feeling as if it can provide an equally potent counterpoint to Coastal Reveries. It was this feeling that informed my decision to offer Lust's Nightly Glories as its own separately reissued release, rather than a bonus disc for Coastal Reveries, and now, almost a decade later, I'm happy to finally give it a distinct place in my catalog for public consumption and consideration.
