jtr9000 Having had a while to digest this gargantuan set it's become a stand out record in my collection. The sheer duration of it, as well as the heavy-set rhythms, make it a welcome background to writing or painting. I can imagine this being a great accompaniment to almost any kind of work. Though it's not purely functional music! The cascading ambience it's drenched in is detailed enough to stand up to close listening too. It also shines at both quiet and loud volumes. A very versatile set. Awesome.

PHARMLANDS is a set of twelve CH live cuts, each nearly a half-hour in length, that revisit the STATIC PHARMING series by way of transfiguring source synthesis from the fourth year of my WORKINGMAN'S DRONE series alongside a bass monosynth, a couple drum machines and a slew of analog/digital FX processing. In a method of working that recalls DRIPPING EARTH and GREEN SHAPE, the sessions for PHARMLANDS are each a different shade/perspective/iteration/version of the same singular idea, ambient techno and dub ethos by way of near-generative synthesis and signal processing-as-composition. Collected here, they form a monolith in the Halifaxian landscape that is sure to appeal to longtime listeners as well as newcomers to the sound, being both abstracted and accessible in the same twelve breaths.
