about

While looking through old hard drives and SD cards for a specific field recording, I stumbled upon three lost tracks from the very first White Pillar session, in November 2016. These three tracks were made right after the extended jam that became White Pillar 1, and feature the same gear configuration surfing across AM radio waves, zeroing in on interesting overtones and melodic transients. Vaguely remembered, and thought lost until now, they cohesively explore a liminal space between the White Pillar series and something more austere and experimental, such as Deep Earth. Huge sub bass collides with snappy percussive chunks, while fuzz-scrambled speech and pop music seeps through the radio bands like radiation. Surreal and unique techno for close listening as well as larger speaker systems.
