Aeriformic Forests is a massive, undulating tapestry of sound, recorded during the Static Pharming sessions earlier in the year. A lengthy excursion into vaguely-rhythmic ambient dub, comprised of dozens of different tape loops and synth layers that meander around the stereo field, sporadically evaporating and then dripping back down on the humming bass foundation like rain. Walls of translucent light overlap to form floating pools of colors, while the womblike percussion isn't in a hurry to go anywhere. In this way, A.F. is simply and literally a document of Static Pharming - music created for aesthetic and impressionist values, rather than compositional movement. Wallpaper music for the dub techno crowd, you could say, and not too distantly related to other CH works such as Reflector or some of the Verdant Acre recordings. While this recording is available as a bonus disc inside the 5xCD Static Pharming: Year One box set, it has been made available here in a singular edition for the listeners who have already purchased all of the Static Pharming material separately.
