Fissured Beach, or "Before & After The Long Night". Recorded in two passes, one being an initial session of drone-tail chasing and reverb smearing fascination, the second being an application of comforting bass and rhythm work in the name of recovery. So it is an exercise in both the appreciation of duality and a milemarker to note that a drastic change has now occurred, obliterating the previous path and forever changing the one you must now take. I know this all sounds rather ambiguous, especially for a release write-up, but it is what it is. I don't have the heart to make it be anything else but itself. Fissured Beach drones on and on, and to me it's beautiful, losing crests of synth chord shimmer in the white noise waves. It's very much in line with the Static Pharming template of long and deep and (somewhere in its bone structure) techno. Something to help me through the new night, where new sleep comes to a new me...yet I rest my head on the same old bed, and wonder if I'll notice the change.
