It isn't often I run a year-long series, and finish it, and then decide to keep going. Usually, I feel that an EP a month for a year is enough to really rinse out whatever idea I had at the beginning, and that maybe I will revisit it later on once I get some new ideas to apply to the project. Static Pharming is the first series I've started that I felt was only beginning to come into its own, and pick up proper momentum, by the time the 12th month rolled in. Perhaps it is the ever-expanding and tangential aspect of Coppice Halifax as a project now, perhaps I'm just addicted to getting lost in my own forests. So, with RX13, I'm raising my glass to all of you - here's to another year of Pharming!
Gemstones In Ice, as RX13, is a vibrant piece that was equally inspired by the winter cold and by the brilliant cv313 material that my friend Mr. Hitchell was sharing with me when I recorded it. Romping drums, copious amounts of white noise and delay artifacts, heavy use of filters and reverbs and of course thick bass figures that help punctuate the motorik rhythm. It's a feelgood slice of Analog Botany that is meant to jump start the second year of Static Pharming in a playful way. Press play, open your ears and let it wrap around you!
