Sift is October's installment of the Static Pharming series, conjuring up synaesthetic swells of color and texture like gem-glittered dust from the boots of giants. Drawing itself in closely to your ears with big soft sails full of cool wind, Sift gradually reveals a waterlogged rhythm bobbing in and out and around the stereo field, marked occasionally by an echoing woodblock. A single note of extremely muddy bass crawls up to be felt, and the swelling chords of the sunken orchestra become more and more prominent. The whole vessel undulates for several minutes before fading away in a mistlike echo of its actual shape.
"We'll walk in ecstasy. Clear planet blue and green."
