Whitehope, the single hour-long piece I dreamt about and labored over for years. During that time, I'd amassed a fairly large library of attempts at conquering it, until I finally completed it on ABX33. Collected here are five such attempts, including a live performance of the piece at Conundrum Music Hall last December. These mixes are all Whitehope, I've since realized, albeit from different approaches and perhaps under different weather. Whitehope is not quite a composition, but an idea, an idyllic fantasy of a feeling that manifests as a place. Could there be other aspects of Whitehope out there, yet to be discovered? I firmly believe so. Although all that matters is here and now, right? Not there and then, when I just wrote the previous sentence. Here are five paintings of my imaginary island, in the currency of time and space.
