The fourth volume of the ever-expanding Verdant Acre series is perhaps the most accessible of the set thus far. Building atmospheres from a provenance of melodic and droning loops rather than composted chunks of earthy orchestra, and yielding a crop of six pieces that endlessly bounce and sway like treetops in a heavy wind. There's some cloud cover overhead, but it only takes a few steps forward and a couple deep inhaling breaths to realize the sun is creeping through and slowly brightening the entire landscape. What follows is slowly unveiled, like a massive translucent green curtain over your mind. Grandiose scenes of pastoral nostalgia and electronic summertime fantasies. The sunken orchestras beneath the forest floor have never been closer, their long detuned strings and cracked bows jutting up and out of the grass and mud like defiant threads of petrified wood, reaching for heaven in a long dying breath.
